Our mission at the Dutchess County Historical Society is to preserve and share the history of Dutchess County from its earliest peoples to the present. DCHS strives to recognize the contributions of the County and its inhabitants. DCHS works to interpret and share this wealth with current residents, visitors as well as tomorrow’s audience.
For over 93 years of Dutchess County’s 324 years, Dutchess County Historical Society has been working to discover, acquire, preserve and interpret the County’s extraordinary history. The Society was chartered by the State of New York in 1918 and achieved its tax exempt status in 1983.
