Membership
We invite you to join us in our mission to protect and share the history of Dutchess County and its fascinating variety of people, places and events. Your membership allows us to:
- Maintain two 18th century historic homes in the county seat of Poughkeepsie
- Provide curatorial care for a significant photo, object and document collection
- Sponsor tours, study trips, newsletters, lectures, seminars, and workshops
- Hold an annual gala dinner to honor distinguished service to history and the community
- Advocate for landmark preservation
- Operate the Franklin A. Butts Research Library
- Offer programs to enhance the teaching of history in elementary and secondary classrooms
- Create exhibits for public occasions and spaces
- Provide volunteer and internship opportunities
- Help sponsor a summer archaeology field school for college and high school students
- Publish an annual year book presenting the latest in local history scholarship
